Answer:

Material master can be created at 4 levels.

1.      Client level- Basic data

2.      Plant level- Accounting data/MRP Views/ Purchasing data

3.      Storage level- Plant/Storage Location

4.      Sales Organization level- Sales view for few materials

Client Level:

Data maintained at client level will be available for all company codes in the client.

Same Basic data will be shown for a material throughout all company codes/Plants (Only basic data)

Plant Level:

Data maintained in accounting tab and MRP tab and purchasing tab will be maintained wrt plant for every material.

Note: If the valuation is at company code level then all this accounting data will be at company code level, but most of companies they have valuation at plant level.

Storage level:

Data maintained at plant and storage location tabs will be at storage location level.

Sales Organization:

Its completely SD data, where for STO types we will use sales data to transfer goods.
